Terms of Service
Effective date: October 6, 2026
These terms govern your use of receiptboard.com (operated by ReceiptBoard as "ReceiptBoard", "we", "us"). By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. What ReceiptBoard is
ReceiptBoard provides a free, browser-based tool for creating receipts, which you can print or save as PDF files using your browser. Optional account and Pro features add saved records, invoice delivery, tracking, automatic reminders, direct card payments, automatic receipts and recurring invoices as described on the site and in our Privacy Policy.
2. Legitimate use only
ReceiptBoard is for documenting real transactions: goods you actually sold, services you actually provided. You must not use it to:
- create receipts or invoices for goods or services that were not actually provided;
- misrepresent who you are, who the document is from, or what was delivered;
- deceive or defraud any person, business, or institution, or evade taxes;
- infringe anyone's rights, including using logos or names you have no right to use.
Creating false receipts or invoices may constitute fraud and can carry civil and criminal penalties. You are solely responsible for the documents you create and how you use them. We may block or restrict access to the site by anyone we reasonably believe is using it for fraudulent purposes.
3. Not tax, legal, or accounting advice
ReceiptBoard is a document tool, not an advisor. Nothing on this site — including field labels, default payment terms, template layouts, or FAQ answers — is tax, legal, or accounting advice. Document requirements vary by country, state, and industry: which fields are mandatory, how tax must be shown, how long records must be kept. It is your responsibility to ensure the documents you create meet the requirements that apply to you, and to enter the correct amounts, tax rates, and identifiers. When in doubt, consult a qualified professional.
4. Your content, our site
The receipts and invoices you create are yours. You keep all rights to the information you enter and the documents you generate. No-account receipt drafts stay in your browser; when you use account features, we process the information you choose to save or send as described in our Privacy Policy.
The ReceiptBoard site itself — its design, text, code, and branding — belongs to us or our licensors. You may not copy, resell, or present the site as your own service. Normal use, including creating receipts and invoices for your business or your clients' billing, is of course welcome.
5. Provided "as is"
ReceiptBoard is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and error-free operation. We do not guarantee that the site will always be available, that generated documents are free of errors, or that they meet any particular legal or tax requirement. Always review a document before sending it to anyone.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the site — including lost profits, disputes with your clients, tax penalties, or losses caused by errors in documents you created. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim is limited to $100 USD or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, whichever is greater.
7. Accounts and paid services
Accounts use email-code sign-in, with Google sign-in available if enabled. Free accounts can save up to 3 documents. Pro subscriptions cost $19.99 USD per month or $99 USD per year.
Account and paid features may require additional information to provide the service, including business settings, saved documents and billing records. Prices, billing intervals and included features are shown before checkout. You may cancel a recurring subscription to prevent its next renewal; cancellation does not retroactively refund a completed billing period except where required by law.
7a. Online payments
Online payments are processed as Stripe Connect direct charges into your own Stripe account under your agreement with Stripe. ReceiptBoard is not a party to the transaction between you and your customer and does not hold the funds. You manage refunds and disputes through your own Stripe account.
You pay Stripe's standard rate. We don't add a cent.
You must not use ReceiptBoard to create fraudulent or unlawful invoices. We may suspend or terminate accounts used for these purposes.
8. Changes to the service and these terms
We may change or discontinue any part of the service at any time. Material changes to paid terms will be reflected on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
